The CTA middle school offers small class size, opportunity for community service and leadership, individualized and advanced learning options, and a staff committed to their students. “Every day that I arrive here at C.T.A., I feel a sense of home. The staff, students, and families that fill our buildings are a daily reminder of how strong a school can be as a result of a shared vision, passion, intentionality, and support; every person here, from our staff to our students to our families to our administration, serves as leader for others--not solely in academics but also in personal growth. I take great pride in being a part of CTA through working with our middle school population; it is my honor to work alongside my colleagues and our students every day. The relationships that we have built truly make us more than a community; we are a family!” -Jenny Bangma MS ELA teacher. CTA Elementary WIN Time: We have strategically organized our schedule in K-5th grade to better support teachers and students so that our intervention time no longer only applies to just our below grade level learners but to ALL students. Hence the title, WIN which stands for “Whatever I Need.” We have arranged our elementary schedules with two 30-minute blocks on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. During this time our grade level teachers, special education teacher, instructional coach, two interventionists and two teacher’s aides all go into classrooms to support small group instruction. Having three staff members in each classroom allows us to support our below grade level learners with the growth instruction that they need, push our on-grade level students and extend the learning of our above grade level students. Our student data is being tracked weekly and we have weekly team meetings with our instructional coach, special education and general education teachers. These meetings allow our staff to dialogue around student data and plan our instructional strategies that will best support all students during our W.I.N. time. To schedule a tour, please contact: Autumn Mattson, Elementary Principal: amattson@ctachargers.org Jennifer Colin, Secondary Principal jcolin@ctachargers.org Or call: 616-696-490

‪It has been a great few days with our amazing students and staff here at CTA!! Each month students that demonstrate our @ctachargers character traits are randomly chosen to have lunch w/ our Elementary Principal Mrs. Mattson! These are some of her favorite days as a principal! She loves hearing about their hopes and dreams! This past month we celebrated KINDNESS! December we are focusing on GETTING ALONG! ‬ Yesterday we had staff in another district, learning and collaborating. So Mrs. Mattson had the privilege to work with some of our small learning groups! What a fun day as the @ctachargers principal!! She loves the opportunity to work with our kids and learn with them! Thank you CTA families for sharing your children with us! It is a blessing to work with all of them every day!!
